Welcome! As a new patient to our office you can expect exceptional care. We pride ourselves in taking care of your specific needs and individualized treatment. The first introduction you have with our office will be a phone contact with the receptionist, who will collect pertinent information. From there you will be transferred to a scheduler who will set up your first appointment. Please come 15 to 20 minutes before your scheduled appointment time so that we may review any necessary paper work that you have downloaded and completed. If you have current dental records at another office, (within the past two years), please call us so that we may assist you in the transfer of those records.
Your initial visit is a time designed for us to get to know you better and collect essential information in order for us to treat your specific dental needs and concerns. The Hygienist will thoroughly review your medical and dental histories, complete a blood pressure screening, take any necessary x-rays and complete a periodontal exam (checking the health of your gum tissue). After these procedures have been completed it will be determined whether or not a professional dental cleaning should be performed or if further treatment is required to restore your mouth to a healthy state.
At the conclusion of your professional dental cleaning you will receive a dental fitness report which reviews the condition of your mouth. This report will inform you about any potential risks of future disease in four different areas of your mouth.
The doctor will also be doing a comprehensive exam during your initial visit. He will be checking for any areas of decay (cavities), broken or lost restorations, infection and how your teeth function in relationship to each other. The doctor will also perform an oral cancer screening and review any x-rays and findings of the Hygienist. If there is a need for further dental treatment you will be introduced to our financial/insurance coordinators who will facilitate scheduling treatment, submitting insurance or making financial arrangements.
Our desire is to provide you with a comfortable and comprehensive first visit. Over the history of our practice, we have strived to make the new patient experience educational and enjoyable. We consider it a privilege that you have chosen our office for your dental health.
